The Cosmo Navy consists of many different divisions like the United Nations Cosmo Force and the Earth Defense Fleet. The United Nations Cosmo Navy is the space-naval military of the Earth Federation. The gun also has a Garmilion counterpart, which is the Dessler Cannon, a reverse engineered WMG being used on both the Desura II "Warship" and Imperator-class.įactions United Nations Cosmo Navy (UNCN) The exclusive weapon to some SBY ships is the Wave Motion Gun (WMG), powerful anti-ship laser cannons which are usually seen in middle to high tier ships of the UNCN. Armed with a wide array of slow moving but hard hitting laser cannons, SBY ships are known for being glass cannons, able to dish out extremely high damage but need to be constantly on the move in order to survive. These ships focus more towards a hit-and-run play style, being able to outmatch other franchise ships with speed, a relatively low profile and good firepower.
The ships and factions featured are from both the Original and Remastered series' of Space Battleship Yamato. In Stardust, there are 4 (2 main, 2 secondary) factions that enter the fray, the United Nations Cosmo Navy (UNCN), the Great Garmillion Empire, the SUS Empire and finally the Gatlantis Empire (White Comet Empire). Throughout the story, they tell of the challenges and adversaries faced by the ship's crew during their voyage, which they would face with sheer determination and courage, values which in the end allowed them to reach the planet Iscandar and restore the Earth. The plot initially revolves around the crew of the Yamato, a reconstructed World War 2 battleship now with Wave Motion technology, during their voyage to the Planet Iscandar in order to retrieve an object that could reverse Earth back it's former state after being bombarded by radioactive meteors. Space Battleship Yamato, also known as Star Blazers in the English version, is a Japanese Sci-fi Anime first created in Japan in 1974.
